Ricky Steamboat

A one-time Intercontinental Champion and WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat now works as a road agent for the company. The lifelong babyface's most memorable program was probably with Randy 'Macho Man' Savage, who 'injured' his larynx with a ring bell on the November 22, 1986, edition of SUPERSTARS.

Lo-Pan

If you ask me, (David) Lo-Pan (played by James Hong) from BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA is one of those enduring cinematic creeps that becomes more eminent with time. Exasperatedly described by the swaggering Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) as a "ten foot tall roadblock", this mystical sorcerer supposedly hails from the Qin Dynasty, yet resides in '80s San Francisco and speaks 'orientalized' American English. It's really hard to explain!

Recap of Places

I dunno what to do with the following pittures (they were sitting and taking up space in my folder), so I'll just lump 'em up and run 'em down:

5Singapore's sole restored coastal gun battery is now a famous museum on the resort island of Sentosa. Good spot for educational tours and artillery lovers like my former classmate Jinshun. BOOMZ!

5I lurve this place! The cycling trails, the ulu temples, Chek Jawa, ... It's an island getaway, indeed! I wanna go back there soon!

5Botanists will dig this tropical eden "situated just five minutes away from bustling Orchard Road" (not quite true, considering it's actually along Cluny Road). This lush sanctuary is, nevertheless, a Michelin 3-star attraction and Time Magazine's pick for Asia's Best Urban Jungle.

Burj Dubai

How does a corporation or country flaunt its power or affluence? One of the ways would be to challenge the limits of verticality by building the world's tallest freestanding man-made structure - in this case, the U.A.E.'s Burj Dubai, which, at a staggering height of 818 m (spire included), surpasses Taiwan's Taipei 101 by more than 300 m!

SwanS

Ostriches, ostensibly, aren't the only birds that're shy and hide their heads in the sand. Swans, it seems, are also equally coy when it comes to public attention. At least I got to be up so close with these graceful creatures, which were dipping their necks into the murky lake water and feeding on aquatic tubers.

Drums

This is what happens when those uneducated 舞 獅 bengs ditch their hobby (and the only thing they're legitimately good at) to delve into drugs. The sound of drums has stopped, but the sonance of stimulants has just started to reverberate (in their heads). Sadness.

Sea Serpent

The Scandinavians believe(d?) in sea serpents so long they encircle the entire world! Now, that's a frac far-fetched even for me, but I'll really like to lap up this monster mythology. Unfortunately, these serpentine sightings can be best explained as a misidentification of an oarfish. Bummer.

Orchard Central

Boasting 12 floors above ground level and 2 basements below (in addition to a 160m frontage), Orchard Central by Far East Organization is Singapore's tallest vertical mall (like how VivoCity is the largest).
Managed to check out the place, which is divided into 9 feature clusters, over the weekend - although I didn't get to ride on any of its 'super escalators' - and even took a trip right up to the rooftop garden6for a whiff of fresh air.

In the Works...

Not much has been known or made public by Dimension Films and The Weinstein Company about this movie or its current production status - the pictured 'teaser poster', of course, was also created by fans - apart from the confirmation that the principal cast and crew of the SCREAM franchise will be back aboard once more. They include director Wes Craven, screenwriter Kevin Williamson and main stars David Arquette, Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox. The trio of actors will reprise their roles as Dewey Riley, Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers, respectively.

What's there to 'beware' of? I've driven a buggy (or golf cart) before and these things don't usually go beyond 15 or 20 km/h. Unless we're talking about a re-enactment of the steam roller scene in AUSTIN POWERS: INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY. Having said that, we totally appreciate the concern over our safety. Hee.
