Barren Land

Feedback to Minister for National Development Mr. Mah Bow Tan: Is Tampines Eco Green really open or is it still under construction?

5We wish there were fish, birds, insects and terrapins, but...nada.

5There were long stretches of lawn and that was about it. No Forest or Diversity Trail.

WHY??

Water Is Precious

If you know how painstaking the desalination process is, you won't wanna waste it. If you don't, visit this place.

More Toilet Tips

(1) Flush after use. We don't want - much less need - to inhale the ammonia in your urine and hydrogen sulfide in your feces.

(2) Wash your hands with soap. We don't know which part of your body you have just come into contact with (and don't wish to know, either).

(3) Do not wet the floor. Slipping and falling on cold hard concrete can cause really bad headaches.

Signs of Sungei Buloh

Whilst most visit SBWR for wildlife watching, this Bo Liao Lang goes there for...sign snapping??

5No lorries, flatbeds or buses are permitted to park here, obviously, since those unruly monkeys would totally burglarize them.

5No fishing, either, because that's the park rangers' favorite pastime.

5Joking aside, please do care for the nature - at least for the sake of our future generations.

5This sign says it best! "Take nothing but photographs" is actually the preceding sentence.

5And, if all else fails, they'll just dump you into the lake and let the Loch Buloh monster have you for lunch. LOL.

Need Money?

How does one work out the Math (or logic) here? 1000 bux equals 13 bux multiplied by 100 days? Oh, does it mean when you borrow $1000 you owe $1300 in return? Loan shark alert!

If such deep sea creatures as the angler, fangtooth, gulper eel, viperfish, giant isopod and long-nosed chimaera still don't deter you from exploring these waters, then we really don't know what will...

So Says Met

And...just who might this 'Met' be? Well, it's the Meteorological Services. You know, the 'Weather Guys'? According to them, rain water isn't potable. Like, of course it isn't. Liquid precipitation, after all, contains sulfuric and nitric acids. If you don't mind the pH levels, then don't heed Met's advice ;-)

Sky Park Safety

Not to be muddled with the Pinnacle@Duxton's $2-per-entry Sky Garden or, better yet, Marina Bay Sands' $20-per-entry SkyPark. In all actuality, before those two even came to completion, VivoCity had already laid claim to the name 'Sky Park'. Withal, why they sprinkle thumbtacks all over the said premises is still anyone's guess...

Labrador Park Series

Thank Yari for Google Maps, I didn't end up as lost as a shipwrecked mariner. After alightling prematurely from Bus Service 408 along Alexandra Road (opposite NOL Building), there was still about 20 minutes or more of footpath before arriving at...

5Ta-da! Destination Labrador - an "oasis of tranquility and natural wonder". This must be one of the lesser visited national parks in Singapore, or so I assume. ECP, it's not.

5British soldiers loading up a cannon at the old Fort Pasir Panjang. Good to know we now have land-to-air missiles at our disposal.

5Opened by Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong on October 17, 2008, ComChest Green is "a haven for all and a place to celebrate the spirit of giving and community engagement". In short, a garden for the old people.

5The public is prohibited from feeding crabs (like who'd do that?), even though the jetty had been closed - meaning there's no access to crustaceans of any kind, anyways.

Rarely Seen Signs

(Above left): We'd been warned of falling branches from trees, but falling rocks? From where? Ah, considering this is an abandoned quarry, it's not all that surprising.

(Above right): Strangling mynahs doesn't make you any more of a bird lover than a crow buster. If you really want to own one, then buy one.
