Sio Bak Png

It's no secret that Isle Café doesn't sell the best tasting kway png (mainly because their oily rice isn't up to mark), but it's a different story with their sio bak png (which uses normal white rice). Say, aren't these lardy slices of roast pork tantalizing? :-P~

Where's Waterworld?

Honestly speaking, I don't much care for Battlestar Galactica, the world's tallest dueling roller coasters, or its sky-high admission charges. All I want to know is, will there be a Waterworld attraction at Universal Studios Singapore? If yes, will Kevin Costner be there and will he be peeing into a potted plant?

Daddy Long-legs

For a time, my house used to be infested with cockroaches. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse than that, fortunately, it didn't. Why? Because the spiders came along and, somehow, got rid of them six-legged winged pests. But now I'm stuck with these (harmless) webweavers and every corner I turn, there's one daddy long-legs 'humping' the wall. Sigh.

You Can Count on Them

Whichever part of this Little Red Dot you're residing in, the Civil Defence will definitely have a division close to your dwelling. Even if it's a cat trapped on a tree, brigadiers will be dispatched in full force within the sounds of twelve sirens!

Home Team, we know we can count on you!

Celebration at the Bay

Everyone at the world's largest floating platform was psyched up for the official opening of the new bridges - namely The (Double) Helix and a parallel vehicular overpass - and Youth Olympic Park @ Marina Bay by Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan. No one, however, quite expected light showers and stilt-walkers on the scene. Never mind. It's all fun!

Human Cloning

Human cloning is often the stuff of science fiction books and movies - at least for now. Due to its grave ethical implications, this highly complex and extremely controversial procedure has been banned in most (civilized) countries by legislation. What about in the future? Do we want to see multiplicity of ourselves or loved ones?

Coincidentally, it's been reported in the noose that new media has become the new darling for advertisers and promoters hoping to get the word out fast. Formerly a trainee at WWE's developmental territory FCW, Irish grappler Sheamus O'Shaunessy's biggest breakthrough came last December at the TLC PPV when he upset John Cena to pick up his first ever WWE Championship. Though he'd since lost the title strap to Triple H, this (distinctively pasty) 32-year-old's still primed for bigger pushes on the card.

Kick Some Ass

It's been heavily critiqued in some quarters that the new low-budget based-on-comic superhero film KICK-ASS, which has opened atop the U.S. box office over the weekend, is high on violence - especially when 11-year-old heroine Hit-Girl (above, played by Chloë Grace Moretz) is bludgeoned close to the brink of death. Watch and decide for yourselves.

Calling all afi-choco-nados, Hershey's has arrived in Resorts World Sentosa!

Founded in 1894, the Hershey Company, which also produces 80 million Kisses each day, is the largest chocolate manufacturer in North America. Willy Wonka would be so envious.

(Above left): The world's largest Hershey's bar. No kidding. Don't be deceived by the diminutiveness of the photo, for this thing really is large and weighs 5 lb!

(Above right): Hershey's syrup. Didn't know they have strawberry flavor. Should be super saccharine and concentrated.

So what if the last is "refined white bread with processed meat...high in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium, with no fiber"? I'm not a health freak. Yet.

Depending on one's beliefs, there are differing concepts of immortality. In some religions, the spiritual notion of afterlife is a fundamental tenet.
