It's been heavily critiqued in some quarters that the new low-budget based-on-comic superhero film KICK-ASS, which has opened atop the U.S. box office over the weekend, is high on violence - especially when 11-year-old heroine Hit-Girl (above, played by Chloë Grace Moretz) is bludgeoned close to the brink of death.
