Justin Bieber

Love him or loathe him, you can't deny this teenager's just about THE hottest property on the face of our planet. He's all over Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and whatever new/social media there is out there. How does one cope with all this attention and adulation? And the kid hasn't even hit puberty yet - or has he?

Elizabeth Taylor (February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011)

Best remembered for her acting prowess and eight marriages, two-time Academy Award winner and screen legend of Hollywood's Golden Age, Elizabeth Taylor, has passed away at 79. As for best forgotten? Her swansong performance in THE FLINTSTONES.

Miwa Asao

Celebrity athletes don't get any hotter than Japan's Miwa Asao (AKA 'Pixie of Beach Volleyball'). This 25-year-old sports star may not have finished anything better than 17th in international tournaments, but she's got that Anna Kournikova factor going for her (which ain't that bad after all!).

Annie Yi

For someone aged in the north of 40, Taiwanese singer-writer-actress Annie Yi looks amazingly youthful (catch her as a sympathetic judge in CHINA'S GOT TALENT). Could it have anything to do with, apart from the apparent scrupulous personal grooming, divorcing Harlem Yu?

Hailee Steinfeld

Teen actress Hailee Steinfeld, who hails from Tarzana, L.A., is receiving much praise for her work in the Coen Brothers' TRUE GRIT. Time only will tell if she's the rising star that this year's Oscar hopfeul Natalie Portman was back in the nineties.

Sheikh Haikel

So it took me several years to finally get over the fact that heavyweight funnyman Sheikh Haikel got hitched to the svelte beauty that is Anna Belle Francis. Not taking anything away from the multifaceted all-rounder, who recently released his Profound studio album as a tie-in with Burger King, the gentle giant really is a model family man (i.e. husband and father) who also happens to look like Tazz.

Joanne Yang

I'm only hazarding a guess here, but I don't fink anyone has any remembrance of this fresh-faced young actress from 2008's CAPE NO. 7, where she played Dada the 10-year-old child prodigy who became the protagonistic band's keyboardist?

Morgan Freeman

Here's one of my favorite character actors of all time. Academy Award winner. 60 film credits (including as narrator). Composed demeanor. Authoritative speaking voice. Man, Morgan Freeman can make any dingy dialogue sound like Shakespeare and any crappy movie look like CASABLANCA. He's that damn good.

Enough Already

I can't get all these made-in-Singapore TV characters/ personas who seem to annoy more than endear. (Wake up, Lucas Chow!) First, there was Liang Po Po. Then, there was Phua Chu Kang. (Actually I dunno which one came first, but who cares?) Now, there's Auntie Lucy. Gimme a break! I know Dennis Chew doesn't mean any harm, but his cross-dressing antics are beginning to put me off big time. They say too much of a good thing's no good. What about too much of a bad thing? Time to stop this nonsense before it really gets "so embarrassing"! Okay, rant over.

Mei Kurokawa

Never so much heard of her until the end credits of THE HAUNTED APARTMENTS, that middling late-night J-horror showcase Mom was forcing herself to stay awake and watch, started to roll. Kinda cute, eh? But, then again, aren't they all?

Lu Chen

Asia's Heavenly King of Magic Liu Ch'ien has been credited as his country Taiwan's only enchanter extraordinaire to perform in Hollywood's Magic Castle. An admirer of illusion legend David Copperfield, Lu 'Louis' Chen has also mastered the former's stage presence and profound showmanship.

Model Showcase 2: Janice Man

Is it surprising at all that someone who starred in a movie called LA LINGERIE is as susceptible to controversies as a lesbian in Lebanon? Janice Man, another of Hong Kong's top models (a sometime euphemism for socialite) and Angelababy's bestie-gone-bad, has also been accused of 'plasticizing' herself in the name of fame. Last heard, she's getting hitched to her fully loaded boyfriend.

Model Showcase 1: Angelababy

Only 21, Hong Kong's current It-Girl, model-actress Angela Yeung (nicknamed Angelababy, face of Fendi, Nokia, Giordano and Shiseido), has already come under scathing criticism for allegedly going through extensive cosmetic surgery and enhancements - not that it's anyone's business, actually, unless she's claiming that her body parts are as real as her friendship with 'BFF' Janice Man.

Where's Willy?

No, seriously. Where is William Hung? Still getting hung over from his 15 minutes of fame? Kissing Michael Koch's ass? Or banging UC Berkeley cheerleaders? The perennial outcast has now become as obscure as the Starchild.

Kristen Stewart

Obviously, I can't speak for all the hot-blooded 'Martians', but this blogger's so enamored with Stephenie Meyer's sullen heroine that there's nothing more he wishes than to propose to her (after a dramatic pause): "Marry me, Bella."

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Arguably less smouldering than Brian Austin Green's trophy wife, this Victoria's Secret model has been cast in next summer's TRANSFORMERS 3 to romance that lucky sonofabitch Shia LeBeouf all the same.

Yan Yee

Playing a puerile but good-hearted young woman who pesters Adrian Pang's character in the soon-to-be-concluded Channel 8 drama serial WITH YOU, 20-year-old former Miss Malaysia Global Queen International Yan Yee bears some semblance to first-generation 'Ah Jie' Zeng Huifen. Will her acting chops be as profound?

Aya Ueto

Lingo-san said I would take a fancy to this Japanese starlet, and she's right - I do. Pegged a 'tarento' (someone who's famous for being famous, without any discernible talent), Aya Ueto has nevertheless headlined the 2003 avenger feature AZUMI.
