Human Barcode

In Isaac Asimov's science fiction vision of the future, will human beings be branded (or embedded) with barcodes that provide instant identi-fication? That way, we won't need IC or passports or even credit cards if your bank account can be accessed via these black-and-white strips :-D

Smart Phone Wars

Don't mind me sayin' this, but I'm as clueless as Alicia Silverstone when it comes to Androids and whatnots. So Google and Windows can co-exist on both mobile and internet platforms? What's dual booting? Does NE1 use walkie-talkie NEmore?

i7

When yours lappy went notebook hunting last month, he was looking out for one with an Intel® Core™ i7 processor. Why? Because...i7 would be superior to i3 and i5? (*Shrugs*) As for what it does exactly to/for my ASUS, I have absopositively no idea. This is how tech-unsavvy and yet kiasu I am :-P

Gone Wireless

As much as I've got loads to gripe about SingNet for messing up my Internet connection (and 'murdering my stingray'), I owe their Duty Manager Mr. Loges a BIG favor for patiently guiding me through the hassle-free 2Wire setup process. Have mio Box, can surf (wirelessly)!

KIV

'Freebies' from SingTel as a result of upgrading my SingNet home broadband plan (to 6 Mbps unlimited) at hello! ComCentre. However, with the 'dark cloud' still hovering over, I shall keep this in view first.

Canon IXUS 130

Not a DSLR, to be sure, but I surmise it should be adequate for amateur shoots.

iPod Touch

Having serious thoughts about getting this gadget. Heard it's good for games, music and videos. At the same time, am afraid of not knowing where to download dramas or how to convert clips to iTunes-compatible formats -_-

Would You Wear This?

Are the Spaniards outta their minds? First, the World Cup. Now, spray-on clothing? Unheard of. And, frankly, the fabric's a tad skin-tight for comfort!

InVoca

Here's a neat lil' device for all the lazy bums out there (and there should be many). The InVoca 3.0 Voice-Activated IR Remote lets you tell your TV what to do (literally), without having you lift a pudgy finger. This totally hands-free, fully rechargeable contraption uses the sound of your voice to control your TV, VCR, DVD player, cable box, satellite receiver, and even your entire home theater system! So, instead of physically fighting for the channel flipper, you now have to 'out-decibel' everyone – and it helps a lot if you can sound like Don LaFontaine.

iTrouble

Apple's iPhone 4 may be the hippest new toy in town, but this faddish gadget does come with its fair share of hiccups - most notably one with a fancy name like the 'Death Grip' (read: "a reception problem with the iPhone, which seems to occur when the phone is held near the lower left corner, especially if the hand touches a tiny gap in the iPhone 4's steel antenna band"). Still worth the investment, tech junkies? You decide.

3D TV

HDTV is so yesterday. Nowadays, what separates ordinary television viewing from an enthralling and 'holistic' experience is the extra dimension brought about by techniques such as multi-view and stereoscopic captures. The next frontier? 4D TV with external elements like winds, lighting, motion and even odors!

My New Phone

With my new complimentary Sony Ericsson Yari, it'd appear that the days of Nokia 6230i-snapped captures are numbered...

iPad

From iPod to iPhone and now to iPad, Apple's technological advancements keep getting bigger (and trustingly better). What's next? iPond? (It's past midnight and I can't think up anything smarter than a 5th grader.)

Water on the Moon?

Have you heard? NASA has found, by virtue of "unambiguous evidence", a 'significant amount' of water across the surface of the moon. Are they sure it's not leftover pee from the Apollo astronauts?

iPhone 3GS

The Apple iPhone just got better (read above) with 3GS. Featuring video recording (in portrait or landscape), voice control (with name and music recognition) and up to 32GB of storage space, techies will want to stay ahead of the curve by getting one of these babies with their next paycheck.
Me, I'm perfectly happy not succumbing to 'slavery'.

Google Earth

They (ref: B. J. Habibie) say the tiny island city-state of Singapore is but a little red dot on the world map, and that little red dot in the middle of this Keyhole superimposition must surely be our Istana?
All seriousness aside, where should we zoom in for fat naked couples making out on sunny rooftops?

Apple iPhone

"The Apple iPhone is an Internet-connected multimedia smartphone with a flush multi-touch screen and a minimal hardware interface. Lacking a physical keyboard, a virtual keyboard is rendered on the touch screen. The iPhone's functions include those of a camera phone and portable media player (equivalent to the iPod) in addition to text messaging and visual voicemail. It also offers Internet services including e-mail, web browsing and local Wi-Fi connectivity."

Ed: Wow...should I get one, too?
