In what's deemed as the most hotly contested General Election in Singapore's history, the incumbent PAP is strongly challenged/opposed on all sides - in all wards save for one - by as many as 6 different political parties. The rallies have begun islandwide and more people flock to them than to getais. Should be a very rousing experience.Labels: News
The youths in Marine Parade can now be represented by either of two opposing candidates - Rina Tin Pei Ling from the PAP and Nicole Rebecca Seah from the NSP - vying for a seat in the Parliament. We'll be surprised if their personal manifestos make no references to makeup and mascara.Labels: Random
According to this digital/electronic 'Visitor Lots Available' board provided by the Ramky Group headquartered in Hyderabad, India, there are...there are...hey, just how many vacant lots are there?? (It's actually my mobile camera's problem. Hur hur!)Labels: Random
Smackdown! superstar Edge's premature retirement prompted the WWE to hold their annual draft lottery earlier than usual. Viewers of Raw would've known the results (i.e. various trades) by now. Only question is: Which brand will the debuting Kharma (FKA Awesome Kong) end up on?Labels: Wrestling
It was a perfectly fine afternoon for a game of basketball, but - as one can see - there wasn't a single soul on the newly rubberized court. Are residents of Kim Seng well aware of the fact that they'll never Kobe Bryant or LeBron James?Labels: Random
With more than 3 million YouTube views in 3 days, Wong Fu Production's 16-minute short STRANGERS, AGAIN - a meaningful essay on the various stages of a love relationship - has made quite an online celebrity out of 23-year-old lead actress Cathy Nguyen, who is Vietnamese-American with "a bit of French and Thai". You can see her in some of WFP's older videos or visit her music channel here.Labels: Media
Came across this small Taoist temple tucked away at 119A Kim Tian Road during one of my 'gallivanting explorations' around the environs over the weekend. Didn't step inside nor take any photos of the shrine as a sign of respect and reverence for the deities. (In verity, it's more like I have no idea what to write about.)Labels: Culture

Well, whaddya know? It's that time of the year for MediaCorp artistes to revel in another self-congratulating gaiety that no one else except the 'insiders' themselves care about. The widely watched shindig will again emanate from Resorts World Sentosa's Compass Ballroom underneath the Hard Rock Hotel and 'stars' will be ambling down the red carpet from 5.30 p.m. onwards. Can't wait!Labels: TV
Captain Toshio Muramatsu's car. The Science Patrol leader's freshly spray painted automobile is an upgrade from the original silver 1961 Chevrolet Corvair four-door sedan. Can you tell the difference?Labels: Automobiles

Was recently recommended this video clip filmed in supposedly one of Malaysia's 'backwater' primary schools, in which an unseen (but clearly heard) 'teacher' was addressing and 'educating' a large congregation of pubescent children about sex during an assembly. Apart from the distinctive 'Federation accent' that the 'teacher' was sporting (which was already a distraction), the speaker also slammed promiscuity in such a manner that was more debauched than the depravity itself. I pity those poor poisoned minds.Labels: Education

Love him or loathe him, you can't deny this teenager's just about THE hottest property on the face of our planet. He's all over Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and whatever new/social media there is out there. How does one cope with all this attention and adulation? And the kid hasn't even hit puberty yet - or has he?Labels: Celebs

Attended A Tapestry of Sacred Music today noon at Esplanade's Concert Hall. Renowned organist Marc Rochester flaunted his sense of humor and nifty fingers telling jokes and performing several pieces from his repertoire. So this is how organ music sounds like!Labels: Arts
Temporarily got rid of my unsightly white hair with this Revlon ColorSilk dye (dark mahogany brown). Cost only $9.90 and took only 30 minutes. Saved me a trip to the salon and some money from my pocket ;-)Labels: Me
Will Gale fall prey to the latest series of Woodsboro stabbings? Who's got a knife to grind with Sidney this time round? Watch SCRE4M to find out! I did :-DLabels: Movies
I know I'm 100% culpable of cozening unsuspecting readers by ripping off my own pictures on Fadbook, but what to do? And it's not like we get to see an oversized arachnid every day, right?Labels: Nature

A giant grouper cast in white gold? What 'symbolic significance' has it with Marina Bay Sands? Who can I ask? Not the Bangladeshi workers, I suppose? Dang, I should've read the plague...Labels: Random
Finally got to book out from Hell's Camp to meet ex-college buddies for a weekend movie, but all that tough military training over the fortnight has obviously taken a toll on his 精 神. And never mind that conspicuous whitehead on his nose.Labels: Candid
New York City has her share of beauteously structured/ architectured skycrapers, but none is more breathtaking than the 80-year-old Empire State Building. It's been scaled by King Kong and blown to smithereens by an alien mothership in the movies, but still stands tall today. If I have a chance to visit the Big Apple, I'll be sure to stop by this 102-storey historic landmark :-)Labels: Architecture
I won't consider myself (particularly) pro-Government (i.e. pro-PAP), but condemning it ad infinitum ain't no help at all. Websites like The Online Citizen and The Temasek Review have no credibility whatsoever, so I can only say I'm more than relieved to know that the latter will be shutting down after July. When's TOC's turn??Labels: Media

"1 John chapter 2 refers to many antichrists present at the time while warning of one Antichrist that is coming. The 'many antichrists' belong to the same spirit as that of the one Antichrist. John wrote that such antichrists deny 'that Jesus is the Christ', 'the Father and the Son', and would 'not confess Jesus came in the flesh'."Labels: Supernatural
She may be unfazed by flak, but the People's Action Party's youngest candidate at this coming General Election has certainly got her work cut out for her. From her age (barely 28) to her lifestyle (splurging on a Kate Spade bag) to her apparent coquette (read: 'acting cute'), Ms. Tin, whom I feel is quite the looker, had better not let her 'tongue-in-cheek' Senior Minister down at any cost.Labels: News
With a seating capacity of 3,420, this used to be our largest theater. If it wasn't for defects in its cantilever roof, this iconic structure could still be around - hosting international performances, universities' convocations and National Day rallies. Or not.Labels: Culture
The Georgia Dome in Atlanta exploded when 71,617 screaming fans packed the arena to its rafters and witnessed history made. The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment, The Rock, made his presence felt and lived up to his promise to Team Bring It by getting physical at the conclusion of the John Cena-The Miz championship bout. Tell me that's not the best ending to this build-up?Labels: Wrestling
Ever since nanoblocks caught fire and became all the rage over traditional LEGO blocks, I'll never look at another real estate or - in this case - oil refinery(?) model/replica the same way. How many pieces does it come in? Do they have super glue included?Labels: Random
