Go Vegan?

Every time this year I'll contemplate whether or not to abstain from meat for a day. Sigh. The mind is not strong...

Pterodactyl

As a closet cryptophile, I'm as intrigued by
pterosaurs as I am by plesiosaurs. The latter are, of course, aquatic creatures like Nessie. The former, often referred to as pterodactyls, are 'winged lizards' and one of the earliest vertebrates known to have evolved powered flight. Who knows, maybe they've also educed the myths of dragons?

Rope Web

Upon heeding the timely advice of highly concerned parents, MINDEATH decided they should be more mindful of their cadets' health and safety. As such, one of the obstacles in the SOC has been reviewed and redesigned into the comparatively clearable 'Charlotte's Web'. Happy?

Barren Land

Feedback to Minister for National Development Mr. Mah Bow Tan: Is Tampines Eco Green really open or is it still under construction?

5We wish there were fish, birds, insects and terrapins, but...nada.

5There were long stretches of lawn and that was about it. No Forest or Diversity Trail.

WHY??

None for Nic

Aww...poor Nicole Seah. For trying so hard to play the People's Sweetheart, she didn't even get to slip into the Parliament by the back door (read: NCMP). No wonder she's all tears now. Well done, WP and SPP, for not letting up!

Cheng Tng

As I mentioned in my other blog, don't blame me for this recent spate of single entries. Apart from the fact that I've been preoccupied with 'Ef-Bee', Blogger was down for maintenance the whole of today - and this very post here was also auto-removed for no rhyme or reason! Can you believe that?! >.<

Back 2 Sci

My post-GE-fever profile pic on FB. Much needed a new start on this social media platform after all the political rabidness has finally subsided. So far, things are pretty smooth - save for the occasional bureaucracy bashing.

Snacks @ TOMC

Caught up with the amicable Carol Koh at Tampines Mall's The Old Malaya Cafe. Apart from main orders, we also tried...

5popiah (which was supposed to be one of their specialities) and...

5this. I can't remember what it's called, though. Can anyone help me out here?

Sin Cara

Hailed as a legend in lucha libre, Sin Cara (formerly and more famously known as Mistico in his home country of Mexico) has made his less-than-impressive debut in the WWE, botching entrances (with the trampoline) and aerial moves all over the mat. Much improvement needed?

Big Win for WP

Of course, the ruling People's Action Party was returned to power/government once again with a still-convincing 81-6 majority vote after the Singapore General Elections 2011, but Low Thia Khiang's Worker Party rained on its parade by breaking through Aljunied Group Represenation Constituency for the first time in our Republic's history - ending incumbent Member of Parliament Foreign Minister George Yeo's 27-year reign and political career in the process - while retaining its own Hougang stronghold with a bigger percentage than before. And, wow, what a lengthy paragraph!

Indoor Forest

Love to be in the midst of Mother Nature, yet scared to be lost and stranded in the Pahang jungle like those two Singaporean women? Easy! Paint your interiors 'foresty' and every day you get to pretend you're Tarzan or Jane swinging from the vines. Or, you can simply forget (about) it.

Finally, a Good One!

Having tried and tasted so many different stalls of claypot chicken rice, I must proclaim that the one at Block 79 of Circuit Road is the most authentic and appetizing so far (then again, what do I know?). It cost $5.00 flat but comes with free spraying/squirting of oil and sweet black sauce.

Cooling Off Day

With all that crazy overthrowing-of-the-PAP shit going on in Aljunied right now, George Yeo could really use some cooling ice himself! All the best for tomorrow!

Rolls-Royce

What seems to be missing from this picture? That's right, envious peeps, the 'Spirit of Ecstasy' emblem/ mascot/ whatever-you-call-it hood ornament that comes with every Rolls-Royce car. What happened to Emily? The wind blew her away?

Texas Chicken

So, and do correct me if I'm wrong, a fast food establishment with a name like 'Texas Chicken' is actually locally owned and operated? Okay. What's up on their menu? Let's see, they've got chicken (Original, Spicy, Winglets and Tenders), burgers (Classic, Tex Supreme, Mesquite BBQ, Tex Wrap, Mexicana and Fish), ...looks like there are more choices than Kentucky and Popeyes, already!

Influential

With one single (decidedly long-winded) blog post, controversial blogger Xiaxue slapped the Opposition - rather, their unenlightened and unintellectual supporters in New Media - right in the face and made me the biggest convert of the year. Love her!

Delta Dip

The weather seemed fine enough (read: sunless + heavy cloudcast + slight sprinkling afterward) for an afternoon dip, so that was exactly what I did. Still sucky with my strokes (which are laughable), but couldn't be bothered much; just enjoyed lying in the water on my back and paddling along ever so slowly with my legs/feet...

Arti

On February 14, 1942, the 1st and 2nd Battalion of the Malay Regiment fought bravely at Bukit Chandu (AKA Opium Hill) in Pasir Panjang to fend off the invading Japanese, but to no avail. Pictured above5are displays of the courageous mortar crew and a cannon cart. So, did I get most of the historical facts correct? :-D

The Wedding of the Century

From Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, over 3 billion viewers and spectators alike bore witness - in one way or another - to the Royal Wedding between Prince Willam and Kate Middleton. I thought the whole affair (as in ceremonial procession) was a bit dragged out, but subsequent revelation of those 'private moments' - courtesy of expert lip readers - made up for it.
