The $4.50 chicken chop set meal I had at Sungei Road last week was a complete washout. Even the garlic bread tasted godawful. Sole saving grace was the sugarcane-with-lemon (can we christen it the 'Saccharum Twist'?) drink, which only cost a gold coin.

Oooh I love sugarcane juice. Do they add lemon over in Singapore. Over here they normally add cumquat juice.
I love it, too, cos' it's so refreshing - and sweet. They don't normally add lemon unless you request for it :-)
