MacRitchie Reservoir Series

It's been twenty long years since I last visited MacRitchie at Lornie Road, Singapore's oldest (impounding) reservoir. Back in my nerdy secondary school days, this was THE perennial venue for our annual 4.8 km cross country run, which we participated under various competing 'houses' (remember, fellow GESSians?).

Anyways, returning to the place, I realize it hasn't changed very much. Save for some amelioration and beautification by the National Parks Board (well done!), everything else's more or less status quo.

5A defunct dome (the gate's locked) overlooking the fresh water basin and primary forest beyond that's home to more than 840 flowering plants and over 500 species of animals (including butterflies).

5Look, it's a pier! Those docked motorboats remind me of some James Bond action sequence. Let the chase begin!

5The distinctive zig-zag bridge and Performing Arts Pavilion. There are hungry tortoises in the pond and, yes, I believe you can feed them.

5But you've been warned not to feed the monkeys because (in case you can't read the 'fine print') "it alters their natural behavior and makes them aggressive to humans". Sounds serious, alright.

5I guess the 'behaviorally altered' monkeys will be aggressive to dogs, as well? (*Shrugs*)
