Lew Lian Most Horrid

When the chewing gum ban in Singapore was enacted in 1992, the world came to know and scorned us. Civil rights activists felt we (read: our government) were being too aggressive and autocratic. Now, if they saw this sign, which explicitly forbids the King of Fruits, durians, in our metro system, would they still feel as adversely? Maybe a $500 fine is too lenient a penalty for D24 violation?
