THE MASK
5Shall we dance?: The Green-faced One tangoing the night away with Tina Carlyle (Cameron Diaz in her notable film debut).
The alternately introverted and flamboyant character of Stanley Ipkiss in 1994’s THE MASK was a part tailor-made for larger-than-life comedian Jim Carrey. One could even say that the Saturday Night Live stand-up was born to play the role. When I first saw this SFX-laden laugher, I was blown away by the frenetic action and Carrey’s exaggerated antics (e.g. the mock 'Oscar presentation' and acceptance speech), but – boy – was it sssmokin’!
