Clarke Quay

With fetes (namely Christmas, New Year and then Chinese New Year) lining up like freight trains, Clarke Quay will, no doubt, be a popular drinking and gathering place for locals and foreigners alike. What perplexes me is, are there so many Japanese frequenters that we have to translate guideposts for them?
