William Peter Blatty's THE EXORCIST, a film directed by William Friedkin and starring Max von Sydow, has been hailed by the West as the most harrowing motion picture experience. Ever.
I saw it as a kid. Scared the shit out of me. Watching it again, now, I don't find the movie all that frightening anymore. Disturbing is more like it. After all, a 12-year-old girl spewing goo (along with ungodly expletives) and doing the 'spider walk' is not something we see every day. Right?
