Dream Girl

South Korean megastar Jeon Ji-hyun first made an impression with me in the moody romantic drama IL MARE (2000). Although it was her subsequent OTT performance as a slightly unhinged (and often violent-prone) girlfriend in the overrated MY SASSY GIRL (2002) that garnered her regional recognition in addition to hordes of covetous male fans, I'll still go with the former. Main concern: Jeon is 25 this year and yet she's done, like, only three major motion pictures over the past five years. Gotta step up your game, girl!
