Far away from the hustling and bustling of the concrete jungle is a rustic and idyllic lifestyle of a Perakian midwife-cum-matchmaker Mui Por (top left) who listens to Rediffusion all day and Sarawakian housewife Janet Fang (top right) who scrubs clothes on a wooden washboard all night. Those were the days for us.
