Folklore (M18)
In the believe-it-or-not department (refer to newspaper article above), three bomohs (witch doctors) in Bandar Baru Samariang, Kuching, reportedly 'caught' a pontianak (female spirit) - 'trapping' it in a glass bottle (a la Genie?). If you ask me, this account can only be as authentic as Pamela Anderson's breasts.
I'm more intrigued by the Orang Minyak (Oily Man), who may or may not be supernatural in origin. According to Malay folklore, these 'creatures' frequently prey on unsuspecting virgin women - abducting and then raping them - and, because their naked bodies are completely covered with oil, they are difficult to catch.
