Spontaneous Human Combustion (SHC)

This has always been an intriguing topic of reading and research for me. Does the hypothetical phenomenon of SHC really exists? What is the 'wick effect'? The human body is almost entirely made up of water, yet 'static flash fires' can occur from within and consume it - leaving behind only extremities like hands and feet.
