Fiji Mermaid
One of the most intriguing members of the cryptozoology family is this purportedly real-life mermaid washed ashore an islet in Indonesia. Pictures like the one above began to spread like a wild bush fire on the Internet, bringing about much fervor and furor.
As it turned out, however, this grotesque exhibit is nothing more than an elaborate taxidermy work by a local craftsman, who stitched an exotic fish tail to an orangutan torso and topping it off with a monkey head. Damn bo liao, man.
